Two scoops, not Three.

June 2020 has been a whirlwind! I published my first novel, launched it with a lockdown Zoom party and received my first reviews, which have all been five-star! It's truly been a dream come true.

I had my first idea for a book Two scoops, not three a decade ago, when I was 29. My aim was to write a fun story about love and friendship. I started writing, but then life, as it has a habit of doing, got in the way. I was diagnosed with epilepsy, married my husband Rich and had my daughter Portia, now four. But despite all this, I never gave up on my goal to finish my book.
The novel follows the lives of three close friends, Briony, Lauren and Natalie and their interlinking adventures over a number of springtime days.

I am a qualified Personal Trainer and Group Exercise Instructor and these experiences have led to the novel being set partly in the gym. One of the characters in the book embarks on a racy affair with her spin instructor, but I am keen to point out that this is not based on a personal experience!

I am hoping Two scoops, not Three will offer a bit of escapism for people who have been stuck at home, as it features locations we used to take for granted, such as the pub, the gym and restaurants.

About me
I'm Terri Boas, I live in Farnborough with my husband Rich, daughter Portia and Pud, the cat. I am a part-time Group Exercise Instructor at some of my local gyms and Two scoops, not Three is my debut novel.

Wow, Two scoops, not three had me hooked from the start. Very relatable characters and some really funny moments. I couldn’t wait to find out how it would all end ...
An enjoyable, easy to read book that I would recommend to anyone wanting a few moments distraction from reality.

If you went through my reviews of previous books, it's quite clear that I'm not the target audience for this book. African history, motor racing and travels around Paraguay are more my thing but I happened to come across this as a friend at work mentioned how much she enjoyed it.
Well, I thoroughly enjoyed it as well. I was interested throughout and I cared about the not just the central characters, which is always key to a good book, but many of the supporting cast. As a man reading woman's fiction, it was thought provoking and revealing to me about woman and relationships.
The twist at the end I did actually predict earlier on, but what I didn't predict were the other twists which materialised throughout the book.
Thoroughly enjoyable, thoroughly readable. Excellent job by a debut author who can consider this as a job well done.
Definitely would reccomend as a good book to read for a summer holiday.
It also proved a nice break from the normal books I read, nice to have something different. Next up, 1800's Yugoslavia. Interesting, but nowhere near as fun to read!
